Sorry.. but I do have vacations.

My mother and I were at the Baltic Sea (Greifswald, Rügen/Rugia, Usedom, Stralsund). Unfortunately my dad could not join the trip because Desu our female cat has cut all tendons of the right forepaw. She's getting well.. I hope.. c_c

.. I visited the newly-formed German states (ex GDR) the first time and it was awesome! All people are very friendly, it is not as busy as here and I just love the sea. I've taken nearly 600 photos, so there has to be an output for dA.
I have also taken a look at the University of Greifswald where I would like to study. Greifswald is also know as the native town of Caspar David Friedrich.

Damn, so many things have happened and I had no time for dA. c_c

I bought a 50D and a second-hand Tamron 18-250mm. Very useful for the next vacations at the Baltic Sea (July) and Cuba (December/January).
I love the camera. My 350D ist now just an old lady..
I attended a photography consortium at a neighbour school and try to improve my skills with the help of the teacher who's also a skilled photographer.

I have written all my test papers, so just chillin' in school for a few weeks.
Then I have six weeks summer holidays!
I got my skilled work back and have attained the best grade you can get in the German grading system: 1+ (15 of 15 points) I was so suprised!

So, I'm very happy.

Hey everybody!
So, once in a while a new journal entry.

I have a lot of time, just on week school till holidays. Unfortunately I have no creativity to take and edit photos.
So I had an idea just a few hours ago:
I have always loved to look at old photographs of my family, my parents and grandparents.
So I want to digitalize/scan them and upload some to dA.
Well.. this idea sounds very ordinary, however the pics are so unique and really retro:
Yellowed, blurred and scratched. No photoshop needed for this effect.


Another topic:
Since four weeks I am 18.
And I got an awesome present from my parents:
Canon EF 70-200 2,8L <3 I have taken some photos a few weeks ago maby I uplaod them, too.

And I have the chance to vote *counts* three times this year here in Germany!
The European Parliament election, German federal election and local election. O_o
It is called "Superwahljahr" or "Super Election Year".

Yeah, today I visited a swap meet (I hope that is the right word) for photography here in my hometown .
It is one of the biggets in Europe, very funny if you would know this nearly-dead-80-thousand-inhabitants-city Gladbeck. xD
There were so many people, cameras, lenses and other equipment!
Unfortunately most of the people were as old as my parents or even my grandparents. c_c
And the prices for the cameras and lenses were too high for me as a pupil. I would get on them ebay for more than the half of the price.
And I have searched for film-developer but have not found it.
So, all in all wasted time.

Back for a while
So many things have happened.

1. I had to write a skilled work for school in history. You have to write over 10 pages about a topic at home.
Fortunately I had the chance to choose a topic by my own:
"Cuban internationalism - ideology and difficulty of realization"
I hope that is the right title in English.
I was so happy, but after months of collecting information, reading lots of books, evaluating and writing.. I really hate it. Thankfully I have finished my work at Monday (29 pages).

So, more time for photography, dA and books about another matter.

2. Just one and a half weeks (March 2nd) and I finally turn 18!
Actually I do not know why I am so excited..
I also have no idea what I should wish for my birthday.. :/

3. My subscription expires in three weeks. Shit. Birthday present? xP

4. My mom and I are really thinking about a trip to Cuba in December/January 09!

Six hours till 2009.
Well, I'm not the kind of person celebrating this event.
My family and I will play Monopoly and have a nice evening.
That's all.

2008 was a very turbulent year, not beacause of personal reasons, but I'm hoping for better times for the whole world in 2009 and the future..

In Germany we would call our situation "Klagen/Jammern auf hohem Niveau."
It's hard to translate that.. something like "complain on a very high level".
